The second and third items apply to all undergraduate and graduate and Law admitted students; they do not apply to Community Education Program (CEP) students. The Basics
- Tuition and Fees are the basic mandatory enrollment fees. They are based on three criteria: a) your residency (in-state or out-of-state); b) your level (undergraduate, graduate, Law, non-admitted undergraduate or non-admitted graduate student); and c) the number of credits you are enrolled in. Tuition and fees includes basic tuition plus the following mandatory fees: energy surcharge, technology, building, incidental, recreation center bond, health services and registration.
Click on the link in the chart below that applies to you, then use the fee table to find the cost of the credits you are registered for:
- Resource Fees are fees are based on the following criteria: your Major(s), College(s); and your level (undergraduate, graduate, Law). In some cases, both your Major and your College will charge a resource fee. If you have multiple majors, you may pay multiple resource fees.
Use this table to look up the resource fees that apply to you.
- The Matriculation Fee is a one-time fee that admitted students are assessed their first term of attendance. This fee replaces many miscellaneous fees such as new student orientation fees, transcript fees, degree application fees, re-enrollment fees, and add/drop course changes within deadline periods. The Matriculation Fee is based on two criteria: your level (undergraduate or graduate/post bac/Law) and your status as an admitted student. The Matriculation fee is not assessed to non-admitted students (Community Education Program students).
If this is the first term you are admitted to and enrolled in any degree program, you will be assessed the matriculation fee. The fee is $250 for new Undergraduate, new Graduate, Post baccalaureate and Law Students.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Matriculation Fee are available here.
- Honors College Fee is assessed to undergraduate students enrolled in the Honors College. The fee is based on two criteria: a) the year you entered the University of Oregon, and b) your year in school.
If you are in the Honors College, look up your Honors College fee in this table.
- Course Fees are assessed on some courses to help cover the cost of in-class materials, field trips, lab materials, etc.
When you use the class schedule to select your courses, look for a green $ symbol in the “Notes” column. Click on either the Notes or on the underlined CRN of the class to view the fees being assessed for that course. Add these course fees to your total cost.
The online class schedule is available here.
Two Factors That Can Impact Your Basic Tuition and Fees:
- Self-Support Course Fees are charged for some courses instead of the typical tuition/fees listed above. Two examples are remedial courses such as Math 095 and some web-based courses.
When you use the class schedule to select your courses, look for a Footnote of “T” in the “Notes” column. Click on either the Notes or on the underlined CRN of the class to find the amount of self-support tuition being assessed for that course. If any of your courses are self support, you need to make sure that you add the self-support amount listed to your total cost but don’t count those credits as part of your tuition and fees above.
The online class schedule is available here.
- Tuition Discounted Courses are undergraduate courses that are discounted 10% of your regular tuition cost if you are an admitted undergraduate student. Note that the mandatory fees for those credits are assessed as usual; the discount is on the tuition portion only. A selection of discounted courses are offered each term. Typically, these are courses offered in the early morning or late afternoon and have enrollments of 100 or more.
When you use the class schedule to select your courses, you can search for tuition-discounted courses as a search criteria or you can look for a Footnote of “V” in the “Notes” column. If any of your selected courses are tuition-discounted, you should use one of the tables below instead of the basic tuition and fees tables above to determine your tuition and fees for that term.
