Course Edit Reports and Scheduling Time Zones Reports (SWREDIT & SWRDAYS)

Course Edit Reports (SWREDIT)

You are able to run department course edit reports on demand in Banner. You may run one CRN at a time, an entire subject, or your entire department. Here's how:

Running the Course Edit Report:

  1. Enter SSASECT (or SQASECT if SSASECT is not available).
  2. From the Options Menu at the top of the form, click on “Run SWREDIT Report.”
  3. A dialogue box labeled “Report Parameters; Enter values for the Parameters” will appear on the screen. Enter values as desired, but always enter a Term Code. Leave the “%” signs in the fields you do not wish to use for your selection.
    • Enter a Term Code and CRN to run a course edit report for a single CRN.
    • Enter a Term Code and Department Code to get all subjects within a department (for example, enter the code for Germanic Languages (GERL) to get Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, German, and Scandinavian).
    • Enter a Term Code and a Subject Code to run just one subject (ENG for English).
    • Enter a Term Code and Credit Subject Code to get edit reports by Credit Subject (OIMB for the marine biology center).

These values may be used in combination. For example, you may generate all the Biology courses for Winter 2006 with OIMB as the credit subject; enter 200502 in the Term Code field, BI in the Subject Code field, and OIMB in the Credit Subject Code field.

Once you have entered your values, click on the Submit Query button. Your edit reports will appear on your screen and may be printed and/or saved to your computer as a PDF file

Scheduling Time Zones Reports (SWRDAYS)

You are able to run department scheduling protocol reports on demand in Banner. The report calculates departmental compliance with the University Scheduling Protocols. It reflects the number and percent of courses taught in each time zone. You may run an entire subject, your entire department, a college summary, or an overall summary. Here's how:

Running the Utilization of Scheduling Time Zones Report:

Enter SSASECT (or SQASECT if SSASECT is not available).

From the Options Menu, click on “Run SWRDAYS Report.”

Reenter your Banner user name and password if prompted to do so.

A dialog box labeled “SWRDAYS: Runtime Parameter Form” will appear on the screen. The term code will default to the term indicated on SSASECT or SQSECT. (Change that to another term if you want.)

  • Use the pull-down menu to select a Department Code to retrieve all subjects within a department. For example, enter the code for Germanic Languages (GERL) to get Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, German, and Scandinavian. The report will generate a page for each subject code within the department, as well as a department summary.
  • Use the pull-down menu to select a Subject Code to retrieve a single subject, such as ENG for English.
  • Use the pull-down menu to select a College Code to retrieve the report by College, including all departments and subjects within the College, such as JO for Journalism and Communication.

Indicate with a “Y” or “N” whether you would like the report to include a summary by Department, College, or Campus-Wide. If you leave all the reports set to the default “Y” you will get all three reports.

Once you have entered your values, click on the Submit Query button at the top of the page. Your protocol report will appear on your screen and may be saved in pdf format on your computer. You are then able to print the report. (You must have the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to view/print this report).

Use this report to determine your department compliance with the zone percentages and evaluate where you might make changes in order to comply with the protocol requirements.

For help with this report, contact Academic Scheduling, (541) 346-3225 or schedatuoregon [dot] edu.
