A UO diploma is an official document that shows you've graduated with a degree. All diplomas contain the following information:
- the University of Oregon school seal
- the college or colleges from which you are graduating
- the name you have chosen to appear on your diploma when you applied for graduation
- honors you have earned
- the signatures of the university president, the dean(s) of your college(s), and the Chair of the Board of Trustees
Undergraduate diplomas do not list majors or minors. Your official transcript will show the degree awarded, and major(s) and minor(s).
Receiving Diplomas
Your diploma is mailed by a third-party processor to your diploma address listing in DuckWeb approximately three weeks after we have awarded your degree. If you do not have a diploma address listed, your diploma will be mailed to the permanent address we have on file. Diplomas that are returned to the Office of the Registrar due to an undeliverable address will be held for ninety days.
- Students who need to update their diploma mailing or permanent addresses should log into DuckWeb to make the change.
- If diplomas are lost in the mail, students are responsible for ordering a new one. Students may order a replacement diploma or an eDiploma online.
New graduates who wish to pick-up their diplomas in-person must complete the diploma pickup request form. Students will receive an email when their diploma is ready for pickup and must bring a valid photo ID to pick up the documents.
Diplomas which are not picked up within ninety days will be destroyed.
Notarized Diplomas and Documents
Some students may wish to have their diplomas, transcripts, or other documents notarized by the Office of the Registrar. Students may request notary service for a $10 fee.
More information on notary services.
Authentication or Apostille
Students who need an Authentication or Apostille along with a notarized transcript, diploma, or other documents will need to complete the Request for Authentication form from the Oregon Secretary of State website. More information about the process is available through the Secretary of State's office or by contacting the Office of the Registrar at uodegree@uoregon.edu.
