Finding the right schedule of courses is key to your academic success. That’s why it’s important to add and drop your courses in DuckWeb by the registration deadlines. If you registered for a class you do not intend to take, drop the course.
- You can add and drop courses in DuckWeb by selecting Add/Drop Classes under the student Registration Menu.
- You can swap courses in DuckWeb by selecting Exchange Sections under the student Registration Menu. Drop a course only if you can be successfully registered for the course you want to add.
- You may also want to review the refund schedules to understand how different dates impact your decision to add or drop courses throughout the term.
- If you plan to drop all of your classes, follow the steps to completely withdraw using DuckWeb.
Petition for an Exemption
If you miss the deadline to add or drop a course in DuckWeb, you can use the late add/drop/withdraw petition to request an exemption to a faculty-established policy and academic deadline.
- Students are required to provide evidence of compelling circumstances which would warrant approval.
- Present all information clearly and concisely.
Petition Due Dates
- Late add petition: Completed petitions should be received no later than one term after the course completes.
- Late drop/withdrawal petition: Completed petitions must be received before finals week begins in the term the course is offered.
