Waitlist

Some classes fill quickly. When you’re registering for classes and see a WL in the class schedule, that means the class has filled. However, you may be able to get on the waitlist.

Here’s your quick guide to waitlisting:

  • Spot a Full Class: After attempting to register and receiving notification that the class is full, look for the red WL (waitlist) code on the schedule.
  • Join the Waitlist: Select the waitlist option to be added to the waitlist. Check your uoregon.edu email daily for updates regarding your waitlist standing. This is where you’ll be notified of any changes to the waitlist.
  • Keep It Tidy: Once your schedule is set, remove yourself from any waitlists you no longer need.

When navigating waitlists, keep in mind:

  • Waitlists are only for full classes.
  • There’s a limit to class waitlists, so if the waitlist is full, you’ll have to wait for an opening.
  • Make certain you meet the class prerequisites before joining a waitlist.
  • Only one waitlist per course, and no waitlisting for a class you’re already in. For example, if you’re registered for Math 111Z, you can’t waitlist for another Math 111Z section.

Avoid Schedule Clashes

Make sure the waitlisted class doesn’t conflict with your current schedule. If it does, you will have to decide which course is more important to you.

Waitlist Ends

Be quick! You only have 24 hours to register from the time the waitlist notification is sent. Waitlisting closes at 9am on Wednesday of Week 1.

Fall Term Heads-Up

Waitlisting takes a break during IntroDucktion but will be back in August. Review the Academic Calendar for details.
