Standardized Tests for Credit

There are several standardized tests students can take to earn college credit. You can use Transfer Equivalency System to confirm if your exam scores may transfer for credit. Not all exam scores may transfer to the University of Oregon, but students are encouraged to research the UO catalog and contact our transfer team at transfercredits@uoregon.edu for support.

A Level Exams

A Level exams are part of the General Certificate of Education (GCE) common in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Students may transfer exam credit to the University of Oregon if they have received A, B, C, or D grades. Scores should be sent to the Office of the Registrar from the testing agency. No credit is awarded for Advanced Subsidiary (AS) or Ordinary Level Exams (O Levels).

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

After completing an AP course, students may take exams to earn college credits. Students can learn more about the process by consulting the UO Testing Center and visiting the College Board's website.

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

CLEP examinations help students earn college credit through the College Board. The University of Oregon offers credit for subject examinations approved by academic departments.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams

Students who have completed International Baccalaureate exams may earn credits at the UO after sending their scores to the Office of the Registrar.
