When students attend the University of Oregon, they have rights to their educational record. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents may request directory information from the Office of the Registrar.

Students can afford their parent view access to additional non-directory information by granting them proxy access in Duckweb. To understand more about the privacy policies that protect students, review privacy information for students. 

In Case of Emergency

The Department of Public Safety, Office of the Dean of Students, and residence hall directors have systems in place for parents, guardians, or other family members to contact a University of Oregon student in an emergency.

From 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Friday:

  • If the student lives on campus: contact student’s residence hall complex director
  • If the student lives off campus: call the Office of the Dean of Students at 541-346-3216
