Dual Enrollment Program

The Dual Enrollment Program allows students to take courses at the University of Oregon (UO) and Lane Community College (LCC).

Requirements

  • Students must be accepted to both UO and LCC.
  • Students must approve their records to be shared between the UO and LCC.

Students not eligible for the Dual Enrollment Program:

  • Nursing majors – Lane Community College
  • Pathway Oregon and HomeFlight students
  • Post-baccalaureate students
  • Students who have been academically disqualified from either institution.

Course Registration

How many credits can/should a student take at each school?

  • There is not necessarily an “ideal combination,” or a specific number of classes at UO and LCC that is recommended.
  • The credit amount a student takes at each school depends on a student’s intended major program and academic requirements.
  • UO Financial Aid recommends a student take at least 6 total credits each term for financial aid eligibility, and at least 12 credits if they want to be considered a full-time student.
  • UO Housing requires full-time enrollment. For a student partially or entirely registered at LCC, opting into the Dual Enrollment program is required.
  • Lane Community College has online, in-person, and hybrid classes. Please review the UO or LCC schedule each term to determine specific offerings.

Program Cancellation

  • The deadline for cancellation is the Friday of the first week of classes.
  • No exceptions will be made for cancellation request made past the deadline.
  • Students that have not taken any credit at the University of Oregon or Lane Community College for one academic year will be cancelled from the program.

Student Record Release

As a condition of admission to the Dual Enrollment Program, you must approve the release of student record information to each institution. This allows your community college and the UO to share your student record information so that you can easily move back and forth between the two institutions.
