Good Standing
A student is in good academic standing when the term GPA is 2.00 or higher and the cumulative UO GPA is 2.00 or higher. Good Standing is not recorded on the official academic transcript but shows on the unofficial transcript in DuckWeb.
Academic Warning
Students receive an academic warning when the UO GPA is lower than 2.00, even if the UO cumulative GPA is 2.00 or higher. This notation is not recorded on the student’s official academic transcript but shows on the unofficial transcript in DuckWeb.
Academic Probation
Students are placed on academic probation when the UO cumulative GPA is lower than 2.00 and/or when the student's three most recent UO term GPAs are lower than 2.00. When on academic probation, students may only enroll in fifteen credits.
Path to Disqualification
- Students who have earned forty-four or fewer credits are allowed to take two terms of probation before they are disqualified.
- Students who have earned more than forty-four credits may be on probation for one quarter before they are disqualified.
Disqualification
Students are disqualified from the university after they have been on academic probation and they have a UO cumulative GPA lower than 2.00 and earn a GPA lower than 2.00 in their next term or if they have three consecutive terms GPAs below 2.00 and receive a fourth term of the low GPA.
Students who have been disqualified may not enroll in future terms unless the Scholastic Review Committee updates the students' academic standing to probationary status or if they reinstate the student.
