First-Term Grade Forgiveness

The first year of college can be challenging for students. This is why the University of Oregon has adopted a process to support students during their first term at the UO.

First-term students who receive an F in a course will be automatically have their grade converted to a pass/no pass grade. First-term students who receive a D will have until the end of the following term to request for their grading option to be converted to a pass/no pass.

If you’re advising students on this process, please share the First-Term Grade Forgiveness Request form with them. You can read more about the policy in the UO Catalog.
