When a department projects enrollment of a course to be seventy or more students, they must request a large classroom assignment. Active learning classrooms are prioritized for those instructors who have training in active learning teaching methods, or those who use resources that are embedded in the Price Science Commons.
Large classrooms will be assigned based on the following criteria:
- Projected enrollment (>70 students), based on previous enrollment
- Required equipment
- Core Education classes will be given priority over specialized courses.
Active learning classrooms will be assigned based on the following criteria:
- Provost's Teaching academy participants will be given priority for active learning classrooms in Knight Library and McKenzie Hall. The Price Science Commons spaces will be prioritized for classes that use resources embedded in the Price Science Commons.
