Contact Hours

Credit hours are determined by the amount of classroom hours and additional out of class work. Detailed information about how credit hours should be determined is available from the Provost's Office website Credit and Student Time Commitment.

Course Fees

You can run course fee reports in Banner (SWREGRP) to see what fees are assigned to your department's CRNs.

If you need to add or remove an approved fee to a class, contact Academic Scheduling at sched@uoregon.edu.

Guidance for Course Meeting Times

  • Courses should meet during established time zones.
  • Courses that meet longer than two hours must be scheduled Monday through Thursday in zones three, four, or five, or on Fridays.
  • Classes that meet twice per week for eighty minutes must begin in the first hour of the time zone. The only exception is that classes in zone one may begin at 8:30 a.m. rather than 8:00 a.m. and zone four where classes may begin at 5:30 p.m.
  • Department controlled spaces may be scheduled anytime, including zone two. Joint-control classrooms cannot be scheduled anytime.
  • Departments may schedule 600-level graduate courses as a block across time zones in their own department-controlled classroom.
  • Discussions or labs must be scheduled outside of zone two. The exception is Thursdays or Fridays, when discussions may be scheduled throughout the day.
  • Non-credit sections are scheduled after all credit classes are assigned a room.
